Novena to the Most Holy Name of Jesus

Novena to the Most Holy Name of Jesus

We have listened to and repeated the Holy Name of Jesus from childhood, but unfortunately, many, very many people do not have an adequate idea of the great wonders of this Holy Name!

What do you know about the Name of Jesus? You know that it is a Holy Name and that we must bow our heads with devout reverence when we pronounce it. But that is actually very little. It would be as if you looked at a closed book and only glanced at the title on the cover. As yet you know nothing of the beautiful passages written in the book itself. Similarly, when you merely pronounce the Name of Jesus, you have not yet recognized all the great and mystical treasures hidden in it.

This Divine Name is in reality a mine of wealth; it is the source of the highest holiness and the secret of the greatest happiness that man can hope to experience on this side of heaven. Read and see...

It is so powerful that it never fails and that it produces the most marvelous results in our souls. It consoles the saddest heart and strengthens the weakest sinner. It obtains for us all kinds of graces and favors, spiritual as well as temporal.

There are two things we must do. First of all, we must clearly understand the meaning and value of the Name of Jesus.

Secondly, we must accustom ourselves to say it devoutly and often, hundreds and hundreds of times every day. It will not be a burden at all, but an immense joy and consolation.

Say it with us, "Jesus, Jesus, Jesus!"

Day 1

Novena to the Most Holy Name of Jesus

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

O good Jesus, have mercy on me according to Your great mercy. O most merciful Jesus, in the name of the Precious Blood which You shed for sinners, I beseech You, wash away all my iniquities and graciously look upon me, a poor and unworthy sinner, as I invoke Your holy name. Therefore, O Jesus, save me for Your holy name’s sake. O God, who appointed Your only-begotten Son as the Savior of mankind and commanded that His name be Jesus; grant me mercies, that I may be enabled to enjoy the sight of Him in heaven whose Holy Name I venerate on earth. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Blessed be the Most Holy Name of Jesus from this time forth even to the end!

Pray: Our Father... Hail Mary... Glory be to the Father...
